Yuyado Unzen Shinyu is located in the hell zone of Unzen. An abundant amount of hot water gushes out from four private hot springs on the premises. The spring quality is a highly acidic sulfur spring with a pH of 2.2, which has a strong bactericidal effect, and contains metasilicic acid, a natural moisturizing ingredient that promotes beautiful skin, but the concentration of ingredients and color of each of the four springs are slightly different. The inn's hospitality is that you can enjoy the four hot springs in different baths.

The family bath "Madoka" is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and allows you to enjoy 100% free-flowing water from the first hot spring (the milky white water). A soak in the rustic rock bath leaves your skin lustrous and beautiful. The second hot spring (the translucent water) is poured into "Kosensho", which is alternated between men and women in the morning and evening. It is ideal for improving blood circulation and relieving fatigue, and the open-air bath offers a wonderful bathing experience while gazing at the green trees. The third hot spring is a "highly concentrated water" that flows into the underground men's large bath "Kinugasa-no-Yu" and the women's large bath "Kayoi-no-Yu". As it is closest to the source, the sulfur content and freshness remain intact, making it popular as the most Unzen-like hot spring. The open-air garden bath in the gazebo is also soothing, with changing emotions from season to season.

Unzen New Springs Kinugasa no Yu Kinugasa no Yu is the closest to the source, so you can enjoy the third hot spring, which is the most typical of Unzen.

In the four-room open-air bath room "Tsukitei," which requires overnight stays, you can enjoy the 4th hot spring (the milky white water) 100% directly from the inn's own source. You can look out over the garden that conveys the inn's 100-year history. The sulfur scent and seasonal colors blend together in the steam.

The Shimabara Peninsula is a treasure trove of ingredients, known as the stomach of Kyushu. The inn has made the "Shimabara Peninsula 15 Mile Declaration" a commitment to using as much fresh local produce as possible from within a 15-mile radius, and serves an original kaiseki meal that changes monthly. The delicacies, born from free thinking unconstrained by traditional Japanese cuisine, are visually stunning and taste superb. Guests can enjoy the chef's special selection of Gasen kaiseki, Gessen kaiseki, and Fusen kaiseki. After relaxing in a high-quality space and enjoying a gourmet feast, your mind will be drawn to the sulfur-scented hot springs.
