Shogetsu is an inn in the sky located on a hill above Gero Onsen town. You can look down on a magnificent view. The view of the city and Hida River, surrounded by the mountains of Southern Hida, will take your breath away. The mountain ridges and city lights floating in the twilight, the moonlight, the early morning mist and fog shining in the crimson... blissful time flows along with the workings of nature that you never tire of seeing. The light, wind, rain, fog, snow, and everything else you encounter are new to your five senses, and before you know it, your mind and spirit will be at peace. This is truly an inn where you can play in the sky.

The Hida hot spring town and the Hida River can be seen from Room 2403, a guest room with an open-air bath on the fourth floor. The entire room is made of glass so as not to spoil the view.

There are 21 guest rooms from the 4th to 10th floors, all with full-length glass that offers unobstructed views. Of these, 18 are named Panorama View or Wide View. There are only three rooms on each floor, so even when the hotel is full, you won't feel like there are other people there. All rooms have two rooms and an indoor bath, and one of the central rooms on the 5th to 9th floors is a bedroom.
We recommend the five rooms with open-air baths on the 4th and 5th floors. Outside the windows are a wide veranda and open-air bath. It goes without saying that the view you can enjoy while relaxing in a deck chair while soaking in the hot water is wonderful. Room 2402, the central room on the 4th floor with an open-air bath, is also equipped with a tea room and a cypress bath, and is extremely comfortable and spacious. You can enjoy multiple nights without any worries.

Gero Onsen is a thick alkaline hot spring that envelops the skin. It is a famous hot spring that has been called one of the three most famous hot springs in Japan. At the bathing spot "Taketori Monogatari", you can enjoy the comfort of the open-air bath filled with the scent of cypress and the glass-walled indoor bath, and lose track of time. The clear mountain air you can feel on your skin, and the ever-changing scenery of the night view and morning mist will also refresh your soul. You can also choose to rent the private baths "Wakaba" and "Momiji" (fees apply).

For dinner, savor a colorful kaiseki meal in a private room at the teahouse "Suikintei," built in the sukiya style, using Hida beef, carefully selected seasonal ingredients, and the bounty of Hida. Each dish is brought out fresh, with perfect timing. The happy time continues right up to the last dish. The conversation with the landlady, who comes to greet you, is also a delightful moment of gourmet food. Breakfast is also served in the same private room. There are plenty of side dishes that go well with white rice, including Hohba miso, and you won't be able to stop eating the delicious "Gin no Mikazuki" brand rice, which was awarded first place in a taste contest in Japan. This inn is highly rated in every respect, including its heartwarming hospitality.
