The new main building of Ikenodaira Hotel Hotel will open on April 22, 2023. The concept is "THE LAKE RESORT." Lake Shirakaba, Mt. Kurumayama, and the clear skies of the plateau will feel even closer, and you can spend a relaxing time by the lake. The new guest rooms are decorated in a modern Japanese style, with a touch of Shinshu. There are five types of room, including the only corner suite "Excel," the largest room, the "Suite" with a view bath overlooking Lake Shirakaba, and the "Universal" which aims to accommodate all guests. Guests can enjoy a buffet menu and special dishes in the private kitchen.
The new main building stands as if it is embraced by the calm Lake Shirakaba. In the foreground of the photo is the public terrace building, which creates an especially elegant atmosphere for your resort time by the lake.
Another concept of the new main building is the "Shinshu Five Senses Showcase." A variety of facilities have been unveiled that allow visitors to experience the ingredients, culture, sounds, crafts, and nature that have been nurtured by the rich climate of Shinshu with all five senses. The talk of the town is the food hall dining "Kohan no Kaze," which features 13 individual stores and corners, including teppanyaki dining, local cuisine, sweets, and bakery. Not only can you enjoy dinner and breakfast buffet-style dishes using ingredients from Shinshu, but you can also enjoy cafe and lunch in the clear air at Mizuumi Terrace.
Inside the building, an indoor hot spring town called "Shirakaba Nakamise" has also been created, condensing the charms of Shinshu. Nakamise Street, which enshrines the Onbashira of Suwa Taisha Shrine, offers a variety of alcoholic beverages shipped directly from the breweries, shops where you can experience traditional crafts, and nostalgic snacks and festivals, creating a fun time. There are also corner-drinking style food stalls, allowing you to enjoy a moment experiencing Shinshu with all your senses.
Shirakaba Nakamise is an indoor hot spring town that encapsulates the charm of Shinshu.
The hot spring is "Natural Hot Spring Koten no Yu", which has its source in Mount Tateshina in the North Yatsugatake Mountains, where you can feel the freedom of a lake resort. In the main areas of the three baths, "Lakeside Mixed Bathing Sora" and "Observation Sauna -Ku-", you can enjoy the magnificent scenery in a "mixed bath". Since it is a mixed bath, you will need to bring your own swimsuit or rent a bathing suit (free of charge) when using it.
"Observation Sauna-Ku-." There is also a cold bath and an open-air bathing area.
The indoor baths are the "Wood Bath" and "Stone Bath", both of which are decorated with Kiso cypress. The Finnish-style auto-loyly sauna in the indoor bath also has a cold bath and an open-air bathing area, allowing you to relax both body and mind in the great outdoors. After the bath, you can rehydrate at the famous water bar in the lounge, where you can taste the underground water of Mt. Tateshina. The hospitality has changed dramatically with the opening of the new main building. Since its opening, the facility has attracted a lot of attention from all over the country.
