Hotel Sakurai is a large hotel packed with the fun of Kusatsu. The appeal of the facilities and hospitality is immeasurable, including the largest bath in Kusatsu, a 30m-long bath where you can enjoy the "mixture of Sainokawara and Bandaiko springs" without adding any water and 100% natural spring water, an open-air bath with the rare "Watanoyu" spring water, the famous "Yumomi Show," and festival-like Sakura drumming performed by the staff. Considering the variety of facilities that cannot be introduced here, the possibilities for creating a trip are endless.
Guests can choose from the "Main Guest House," which features rooms that meet the growing demand for comfort, or the "New Guest House," which is built in a luxurious sukiya-style building and offers an extraordinary space. In 2022, the 6th floor zone of the West Wing of the Main Guest House will be renovated and reopened as the "Comfortable Floor," and will add comfort Japanese-Western rooms, Hollywood Twin Superior, and Hollywood Twin. Both rooms have a natural feel that fits in with the surroundings of Kusatsu, and can be used depending on the purpose of your stay.
The main guest hall is a "Comfort Japanese-Western Room." It is a chic space with wooden flooring, a half-sized tatami room, and a Simmons bed.
Two suite rooms will open on the top floor of the new reception hall, and a club lounge will open on the second floor.
The upper floors of the new guest hall are equipped with a VIP room called "Zuisho" that is furnished with a copy of the national treasure teahouse "Myoki-an", the "Horai" that is an embodiment of the sophistication of Momoyama architecture, and special rooms that are spacious and elegant. On the top floor, overlooking Kusatsu Onsen and Joshinetsu National Park, two suite rooms, the "SAKURA SUITE" and the "ASAMA SUITE", have been created and are generating a lot of buzz. Both are over 100m² in area and can accommodate up to four people. They feature a living room with a great view, two luxurious twin bedrooms with Simmons double beds, and a view bath with a jacuzzi that offers a magnificent view of Mt. Asama, providing a comfortable and extremely relaxing stay.
Furthermore, in February 2024, the club lounge "SAKURA LOUNGE" will open in the renovated lobby on the second floor of the new guest hall. This premium space is available only to guests staying in the two top floor suites, "Zuisho", "Horai", special rooms, as well as the guest rooms with open-air baths in the main guest hall and the comfort Japanese-Western rooms. The space, decorated with tapestries featuring intricate Nishijin-ori patterns, is especially elegant. Classical music is also playing in the background.
The "SAKURA LOUNGE", which opened on the second floor of the new reception hall, offers a comfortable and premium experience.
For that special moment, they offer local beer, sake from Asama Sake Brewery, snacks that go well with sake, whiskey, wine, tapas dishes that go well with wine, and flavorful coffee that tastes like it was brewed by a barista.
Meals are served as a kaiseki course meal or a Japanese, Western, and Chinese buffet. The kaiseki course meal is a delicious feast of seasonal foods with an emphasis on freshness. You can enjoy local mountain delicacies and seafood delivered directly from nearby waters, such as Joshu beef and Gunma Prefecture's brand of rainbow trout, "Masutaro."
The highly acclaimed buffet is impeccable in both quality and quantity. With an all-you-can-eat menu that will leave you spoilt for choice, including freshly fried tempura from the open kitchen, freshly made sushi, roast beef, pizza, highland vegetables, and a dessert buffet. Breakfast is a healthy option for the health-conscious. With French toast as the highlight, you can start your day off right with a rich buffet selection that includes bread, rice, a variety of side dishes that go well with porridge, the chef's special curry, and Joshu beef bowls. Another appealing point is the high level of customer satisfaction.
