Kachoan is an inn with attentive hospitality, conveniently located in the heart of Hida Takayama, within a one-minute walk of the Jinya, old townscape, and morning market. There are 70 staff members for the 24 rooms, and they serve you unobtrusively, without being too close or too far away, giving you a sense of security. They also provide thorough support for those with babies and the elderly. The inn's hospitality is "Aun no, omotenashi." From the "a" (arrival) to the "un" (departure), a hundred levels of hospitality are provided.
The guest rooms are mainly suites that cater to women's aesthetic sense and choices. In recent years, more gorgeous rooms have been added, and six of them will be reopened in December 2023. Each room is a beautiful 60-square-meter space with an 8-tatami Japanese-style room, a living room decorated with Hida furniture, a bedroom with twin beds, and a cypress bath that can be enjoyed 24 hours a day, exuding the "chic" of the ancient capital everywhere. Recommended for families or groups of up to four people. On the top floor, there is a 90-square-meter VIP room with a view of Takayama Jinya directly below. It would make a great way to celebrate an anniversary while traveling.

Consideration for women is also shown during the bathing. Relax Kura, an old house filled with the atmosphere of a townhouse, is equipped with a bathhouse filled with hot spring water, a rest area, a Japanese-style beauty salon, and a powder corner, creating a relaxing time. There are separate baths for men and women, Ishibashi-no-Yu and Relax Manten on the top floor of the annex. For men, there is also an open-air bath where you can have the Hida Mountains and the night view of the city all to yourself.
Dinner and breakfast are served in a private room at the restaurant, so you can enjoy them without worrying about the people around you. Dinner is a basic kaiseki meal that transforms the flavors of nature into delicious treats. The head chef has put in a lot of effort to create a delicious menu, paying particular attention to the cooking method, serving method, and ingredient selection. The food is brought out at the perfect time.
A basic kaiseki meal that changes monthly, carefully prepared with seasonal seafood and mountain delicacies.
The monthly "Umaikyushin Kaiseki" is a special kaiseki course where you can enjoy truly delicious food little by little, featuring the finest delicacies such as seasonal Hida vegetables and seafood delivered directly from the source. The "Hida Beef Kaiseki," which features high-quality Hida beef prepared in a variety of ways, is also perennially popular. Spending time surrounded by the inn's heartfelt hospitality and warmth is a delight.
Japanese breakfast (example). Hida's specialty "Hoba miso" is seasoned with the inn's original seasoning. Freshly baked rolled eggs are also delicious.
