Kintarou Onsen Kofukaku's hot spring source is a rare "mixed sulfur spring and salt spring" that springs up from 1000m underground. Fossil seawater contained in Neogene sedimentary strata was transformed into hot spring water by geothermal heat, and the spring temperature is 75 degrees, the highest in Toyama Prefecture. There is an abundant supply of hot spring water, so no filtration equipment is required. The high concentration of ingredients improves physical condition, and is effective for beautifying the skin and treating coldness. As the name of the facility suggests, this is a hot spring that "can make anyone feel as energetic as Kintaro."
Enjoy the thrill of 100% natural hot spring water in the Tateyama Mountain Range Panorama Large Bath, which uses famous and unusual stones collected from all over the country.
You can enjoy this natural hot spring in a luxurious 100% free-flowing bath at Karuna's House, which has a total area of 2650m2 and is equipped with the 1000m2 "Wall Painting Large Bath" where you can view the Kutani ware ceramic murals, the "Tateyama Mountain Range Large Bath" decorated with oddly shaped rocks and famous stones, and the 1000m2 "Garden Open-Air Bath". Its size, charm, and exceptional bathing comfort are far beyond your imagination. You'll want to bathe again and again, day or night. The founder's secret bathing method is also available, so be sure to try it.
This inn has undergone revolutionary evolution through recent renovations. The most popular luxury space on the upper floors of Kofukaku is the private villa Mine no Kai. The suites and special rooms with open-air baths measuring over 80m2, as well as the five types of modern Japanese rooms, are designed with a meticulous comfort in mind, from interior design to facilities. Two special rooms will be unveiled in Kofukan in 2023. 25 Japanese bedrooms have been renovated from traditional Japanese rooms and are now open on the second to fourth floors.
Zuicho: A new dining space that has changed the way inns serve food
Toyama Bay, where the rich minerals of the Tateyama mountain range flow, is a natural fish tank. Well-known local seafood such as firefly squid and white shrimp in spring, and yellowtail and snow crab in winter, are the main dishes. A popular dining space where you can enjoy such delicacies is the exclusive restaurant "Zuicho" of "Bettei Mine no Kai", which reopened in 2023. The luxurious space of about 200 tatami mats is equipped with partitioned tables and private rooms, creating a private dining experience. Dinner is a kaiseki meal created using extremely fresh seafood and seasonal ingredients. Each dish is freshly prepared from the private kitchen and brought to you at the right time. Customers can enjoy their meal at their own pace, and the staff's smiles and friendly service are also soothing, which has earned them a great reputation.
Zuicho is a newly renovated banquet hall that will reopen in 2023. The approximately 665m2 space has 16 seats and three private rooms.
A private room at "Zuicho." Private rooms are also available at the private dining restaurants "Kumoi" and "Kura."
This inn offers three attractions: the food hospitality greatly improved by "Zuicho," the luxurious rooms that make for a stay, and a famous hot spring that is rare even in Japan. Kintarou Onsen is not well known nationwide, but it is no surprise that it is ranked high in the "Top 100 Hot Springs of Japan."
