The best starry sky in Japan, skin-beautifying hot springs, mountain villages with blooming peach blossoms, and morning markets. All the pleasures of a hot spring resort, all in one place.
Hirugami Onsen is a hot spring resort full of charm. Achi Village, surrounded by mountains and clear air, is Japan's best starry sky village, certified by the Ministry of the Environment. The starry sky is breathtakingly beautiful. The spring water is also known as one of Japan's leading "beauty baths," with a strong alkaline pH of 9.7. The viscous water feels like being wrapped in silk, making it popular with women.
In spring, the area becomes a visual treat as 5,000 peach trees bloom in abundance in red, white and pink.
The open-air garden bath "Tenchi no Yu" on the first floor. You can enjoy the Hirugami hot springs while feeling the breath of nature.
Hirugami Grand Hotel Tenshin is a modern Japanese-style inn where you can enjoy all of these attractions. Although it is located in the center of the hot spring town, it is surrounded by peach blossom trees, and some of the rooms allow you to relax while looking at the blossoms. The inn is adjacent to the morning market square, making it convenient for a morning stroll.
There are two baths where you can experience the power of the hot springs. Occupying the entire seventh floor is Tenbe no Yu, a large open-air bath overlooking the hot spring village. It is a user-friendly facility where even elderly people can safely go to the bathtub. There are also thoughtful touches such as a separate powder room for women. On the first floor is Tenchi no Yu, an open-air garden bath. It includes an open-air rock bath with a large cypress roof, a reclining bath, a tub bath, and an indoor bath. At night, the foot bath on the first floor is lit up. You can also enjoy a beer on a deck chair.
The two most popular rooms on the third floor of Ten no Yakata are equipped with an open-air bath. Tenmangets offers a reclining bath in a bathtub made from Aomori cypress. Kokoromangets has a wooden floor and a bathtub designed with Kiso cypress. Both rooms are fitted with Simmons beds and feature an open-air deck outside. Guests can also enjoy special meals. On the sixth floor of Ten no Yakata is the special room Katsura-fune, with its refined atmosphere. This historic room was where the 46th Oi-sen (title match between Oi Habu Yoshiharu and Kisei Sato Yasumitsu) was held, making it ideal for families and groups.
For dinner, you can enjoy a kaiseki meal using seasonal flavors and carefully selected Shinshu ingredients at the restaurant "Ten no Kuriya Hana to Hoshi" with an open kitchen, the dining restaurant "Kamado" with an Asian atmosphere, or the restaurant "Shikitei" with its sunken kotatsu seats and private rooms, depending on the plan. The most popular tour at the moment is the "Heavenly Paradise Night Tour" held all year round. The ropeway ride is 2500m long, has an elevation difference of 600m, and takes about 15 minutes to an altitude of 1400m, where you can enjoy the best starry sky in Japan.
"Ten no Churaya Hana to Hoshi" is a restaurant where you can enjoy freshly cooked food from the open kitchen.
