Hamanoyu is a modern Sukiya-style inn that offers the tranquility of the four seasons around Lake Suwa. The higher floors have rooms overlooking the peaks of the Northern Alps, including Lake Suwa, Mount Yari, and Hamanoyu Okuhotaka. In March 2023, four "Premium Suites with Semi-open-air View Baths" were reopened on the top 12th floor, a sublimation of Japanese healing and Western relaxation. The rooms are 105m2 or 90m2 in size. All four rooms come standard with two Simmons mattress beds, a 65-inch large LCD TV, and an air purifier with humidifier function, and the semi-open-air bath by the window is filled with high-quality Kami-Suwa Kamisuwa Onsen. Relax in the Japanese-modern style space, soak in the hot spring water, and be soothed by the spectacular views of Lake Suwa and the Northern Alps... It is a spectacular space that will make such blissful times come true. The two "Japanese Modern Twin" rooms with spectacular views that were opened earlier are attracting a lot of attention. You can also enjoy the spectacular summer fireworks at Lake Suwa from a special seat.
The Refresh Zone is a bathhouse that occupies an entire floor. For both men and women, there is a large black granite bath, a cypress bubble bath, an open-air rock bath, a herbal bath, a dry sauna, and a cold water bath. The private baths are also popular. As this is a hot spring town with 300 spring sources, there is plenty of hot water. You can fully soak in the famous springs, which are also said to be good for neuralgia and poor circulation. The large bath is open 24 hours a day. Even if you check in late for business, you can use it without worrying about the time. After the bath, you can quench your thirst with "Karin water," made by mixing the extract of quince, a specialty of the Suwa region, with the spring water of Kirigamine.
For meals, guests can enjoy authentic kaiseki cuisine prepared by the executive chef, who trained at long-established Kyoto restaurants and hotels, in a private room overlooking the Japanese garden or in their guest room. The Kyoto kaiseki course skillfully incorporates local ingredients from each season, such as mountain vegetables, river fish, highland vegetables, carefully selected Shinshu beef, seafood delivered directly from Toyosu, and seasonal flavors from all over the country, and the colorful dishes, which are carefully presented and served in the right dishes, are exquisite. For breakfast, guests can enjoy the flavors of Shinshu with a Japanese set meal. The miso soup, served in a small pot and made with domestic clams sourced from a selected location and season, and the famous Shinshu miso, is exquisitely delicious.
The authentic banquet cuisine is made with ingredients from Shinshu and all over the country. The menu changes monthly to reflect the four seasons of Shinshu.
The space is reminiscent of an ancient capital, and is equipped with comfortable facilities such as an atrium lobby, a lounge with a pond with Nishikigoi swimming and a floating stage, a late-night restaurant, and a place for after-parties. The attentive service is soothing, and your time of relaxation will continue.
Ukishiro is a rare, authentic private garden restaurant in Kamisuwa Onsen. You can hear the babbling of a stream from the Japanese pond garden, which is decorated with stone lanterns.
