Unzen Fukudaya is known for its modern folk art style space. To mark its 55th anniversary in 2023, most of the guest rooms in the main building have been renovated and reborn as modern, relaxing rooms with living space on top of the tatami mats. For example, the "Separate Twin" has a separate space with a Japanese-Western style living room and a twin bedroom with a semi-double bed. The "Premium Twin" is a spacious one-room type with a twin bed in the living space. Two twin rooms have also been created where you can enjoy the popular "Loyly Sauna." Including these rooms, the main building has seven types of guest rooms.
The annex "Yamateru Bettei" has seven guest rooms with unique open-air baths that will make your stay even more luxurious. The rooms are equipped with Shera Lafia mattresses and other high-class facilities as standard, further enhancing the sense of being out of the ordinary.

The highlight is the milky white hot spring, overflowing with the sulfurous scent that is unique to Unzen. In the main building, there is Fugen no Yu, which has a sauna, Hakuun no Yu, which has both hot and warm baths, the rustic open-air garden bath Seseragi no Yu, and the private baths Hino no Yu and Santaro no Yu. In the new building, there is the open-air hot spring bath Kunpu no Yu, which has an infinity panorama. There are a variety of unique baths, and in each bath you can enjoy the milky white hot spring water straight from the source, a luxury you will surely enjoy. We hope you will enjoy the sulfurous spring, rich in metasilicic acid, to your heart's content as you bathe in the baths. The building also features Unzen's first private gym, On-On. You can also get rid of lack of exercise while traveling with a new type of mirroring training exercise.
The open-air garden bath "Seseragi-no-Yu" is fed directly from the source. The sulfurous components in the water turn cloudy when they come into contact with the air.
The inn's cuisine is based on ingredients from Unzen and the Shimabara Peninsula. Guests can choose from three styles to enjoy the authentic delicacies prepared by the chefs using vegetables and livestock grown in sunny environments with abundant minerals carried by the sea breeze, and seafood caught in the waters off the coast of the Shimabara Peninsula, which is surrounded by sea on all sides.
At "Nabe Danran," which specializes in hot pots, you can enjoy seafood caught in the sea off the Shimabara Peninsula and brand-name meats cooked in the inn's secret hot pot recipe. At Teppanyaki "Sakurabashi," you can enjoy piping hot A5 rank Nagasaki Wagyu beef steaks, seafood, and steaks made with organic vegetables from Unzen, all cooked right in front of you at the counter.
The restaurant that has been getting a lot of praise is "Unzen Tempura Kofuku." Unzen is home to native and fixed varieties of vegetables that are full of vitality and known as "seed-dori vegetables," and are characterized by their rich flavor and color. The executive chef says that the most logical way to enjoy their flavor is as tempura. For example, Kuroda Gosun Ninjin is said to be fragrant in the mouth and has a sweetness similar to that of a sweet potato. There are also turnip varieties that are enjoyed for their bitterness, and others that are enjoyed for their smoothness like a paste. The crunchy texture changes with every bite. The individuality of the fragrant vegetables. It is truly exquisite. Following on from the previous year, it will be used on the Unzen course of the "Cruise Train Seven Stars in Kyushu" from September 2024.
