Enjoy the view of Mt. Tanigawa and the warmth of home while enjoying the many benefits of the inn, including hot springs and delicious food.

Surrounded by the lush nature of the foot of Mt. Tanigawa, you can enjoy a relaxing holiday in the hot springs that have been flowing since the Edo period and enjoy locally produced delicacies. This is the perfect way to spend your time at Ryokan Tanigawa. The staff will welcome you with a heartfelt smile. Your carefree holiday will begin surrounded by a relaxing warmth.
Among the many guest rooms available, there are new rooms that pursue modern luxury and functional rooms where you can enjoy videos on a projector, but we would definitely recommend staying in a room with an open-air bath that flows directly from the source. The bath is filled with clean, high-quality "Mountain Hot Spring" that has been gushing out of this area for hundreds of years. Relaxing in the medicinal bath, which has over 20 different effects, will help dissolve the sediment that has built up in your daily life. It is also ideal for maintaining your body. You can also enjoy some private time until check-out at 11:00.

Ryokan Tanigawa Guest Rooms

The "Yasuragi Japanese-style Room" is an upgrade from the standard Japanese-style room. It offers views of the Tanigawa mountain range or the Tanigawa Onsen mountain range.

Ryokan Tanigawa Guest Rooms

The modern and luxurious "New Japanese Modern Bed Room (King Bed)" was newly installed in 2019. You can enjoy TV and Blu-ray on a large screen by projecting it onto the wall with a projector. This is a recommended space for luxurious solo travelers.

Before dinner, you'll want to relax in the rustic open-air bath, feeling the atmosphere of the mountains and the natural breeze. The hotel has separate open-air baths for men and women, as well as a large public bath. The open-air bath with its Sanba stone tub is also excellent. You can enjoy the plentiful hot spring water flowing freely. The feeling of freedom as you can stretch your arms and legs out is irresistible. The temperature of the hot spring is a little on the high side. It relieves fatigue and warms the body from the inside out. For a fee, you can enjoy local sake and ice cream in the bath until 9 pm. It's a very nice service. After the bath, you can quench your thirst with "Minakami's clear water." Before returning to your room, it's nice to stop by the Dazai Osamu mini gallery or the lounge, where they serve delicious cold-brewed coffee.

The large open-air rock bath blends in with the surrounding nature. The mountain breeze is also soothing.

Creative Japanese cuisine with a nostalgic feel

Meals can be enjoyed in a relaxed dining area. Dinner is basically Japanese creative cuisine using ingredients from Gunma, but there is also a "Meat All-You-Can-Eat Plan" with steaks made from Joshu beef, Joshu wheat pork, and Joshu local chicken instead of sashimi and trout, and a "River Fish All-You-Can-Eat Plan" where you can enjoy Gunma's brand river fish instead of meat dishes. The chef's preference is for "tastes that are somehow nostalgic and make you feel like home." Breakfast is served at a half-buffet venue newly opened in 2022, where you can eat as much as you like of whatever you like. Letting yourself go with the flow of time will make you feel energized from the bottom of your heart.
