INDEX
All rooms are "special seats with a spectacular view of Lake Gosho." Enjoy the skin-beautifying hot springs in an infinity-like bath.
Mount Iwate, also known as the Front Fuji, reflects its gentle shape in Lake Gosho and changes in countless ways with the seasons and the dawn and dusk of each day. Hotel Shion is a Japanese-style resort located on the shores of Lake Gosho. The spectacular views of the mountains and the lake are the basis of hospitality as you spend your travels.
All guest rooms have mountain and lake views and come in three types: Japanese-style rooms, Western-style twin rooms, and special rooms on the top floor. The view below changes depending on the floor and room location, captivating all who relax there. So no matter which room you choose, it will be a "best seat with a spectacular view." Relax in the luxuriously appointed special rooms "Wakatake/Oimatsu," "Kame-raku," and "Tsurumai" and enjoy a superb stay with a panoramic view.
The special room on the top floor, "Tsurumai," is a luxurious space with two Japanese-style rooms, a twin room, and a living room, reminiscent of a lakeside villa.
Skin-beautifying baths, nostalgic baths, and traditional Japanese cuisine
The hot springs can be enjoyed in two different baths, one old and one new. At Hitorijime no Yu, which features the Silk Bath "Kinu no Yu" and the open-air bath "Hinoki no Yu," you can enjoy the high-temperature, abundant hot spring water that has been gushing out since the Heian period. The simple spring water that envelops the skin is highly alkaline, with a pH of 8.7 to 9.5, and contains metasilicic acid, a natural moisturizing ingredient, making it a skin-beautifying bath. The Silk Bath in particular is popular with women, who say that "the microscopic bubbles cleanse the skin, leaving it smooth." The Hinoki no Yu bath feels like an infinity pool, as if it is floating on Lake Gosho.
And at the "Nambu Magariya no Yu" you can enjoy the luxurious flowing water from the new hot spring source that the inn has dug. The open-air bath "Akamatsu no Yu" with its octagonal wooden roof exudes the atmosphere of a hidden hot spring at night. The rustic charm of the open-air bath "Oiwa no Yu" is also irresistible.
The Silk Bath "Kinu no Yu" is reminiscent of a traditional Japanese-style room. Just soaking in the bathtub and gazing at Lake Gosho and Mt. Iwate has a healing and relaxing effect.
The area is rich in ingredients, with Kitakami, Ou, and the Sanriku coastline nearby. For dinner, you can enjoy the "Delicious Selection" full of carefully selected seasonal ingredients, or the luxurious upgraded Japanese meal "Hanayuzen," or the "Nanbu Magariya Kaiseki" in the dining hall.
You can enjoy the Morioka Sansa Odori dance from the comfort of your own home. It will be held every day until the end of October. Until the end of March next year, it will be held every Friday and Saturday. The unique shouts of "Sakkora Choiwayasse," the graceful dancers, and the drums... You can experience the charm of Iwate's local culture.
Morioka Sansa Odori. It's so fun you'll want to jump in and join in.
