"Where the stars, the sea and the sky meet", "Villa Rakuen" is where
A luxurious room overlooking the Kitan Strait and the ocean.
Hotel Newawaji offers unobstructed views of the ocean off the east coast of Awaji Island. The Japanese resort "Villa Rakuen" is a must-visit spot, with all rooms equipped with an open-air hot spring bath. The hotel has a variety of unique suites, including the "Sea Garden" on the first floor, the "Star Garden" on the fourth floor, and the "Space Garden" on the fifth to tenth floors, weaving together a magnificent and elegant resort experience, as the catchphrase states, "Where the stars, sea, and sky meet."
The suite "Choyo no Niwa" will be opened on the 4th and 5th floors from 2022 to 2023. There are 14 rooms in 3 types. The large space, measuring 86.84 to 121.5 m² including the terrace, features a Japanese-style room, twin room, living/dining room, bedroom, and a wooden terrace with an open-air bath with a beautiful view. Right in front of you is the Kitan Strait and the open sea. The fantastic morning sun and the sea that changes its appearance every moment are incredibly dramatic. Both dinner and breakfast are served in the room. A special kaiseki private dinner, savored without hesitation at the dining table, is luxury itself. You can enjoy it with local sake and champagne. It is a special resort stage.
"Kuniumi no Yu" inside "Spa Terrace Suigetsu." In this bath space, which is decorated with wood and natural stones in a motif based on the story of the creation of Japan, you can enjoy the cloudy, mineral-rich water of "Komoe Onsen" that springs from within the premises.
On the top floor, the guest-only sky lounge "Tenjo no Sajiki" welcomes you with a picture scroll-like panorama. From the 6th to 12th floors, "Yume Daichi" awaits, offering a spectacular view of the morning sun over the Kitan Strait.
Enjoy the two hot springs that fill the baths overlooking the sea and the delicious food that is unique to Miketsukuni.
The hot springs you can enjoy along with the spectacular ocean views are the new "Sumoto Onsen no Yu" hot spring and the privately-sourced, cloudy "Komoe Onsen". In the bathhouse "Spa Terrace Suigetsu", there is the "Awaji Tanada no Yu" three-tiered bath modeled after the landscape of rice terraces, and the "Kuniumi no Yu" bath with its refreshing woody scent. You can enjoy a variety of soothing baths, including pillow baths and bamboo charcoal baths. If you add in the spectacular private open-air bath "Yumefusen" on the top floor of Yumedaichi, and the "Tenkyu no Shizuku" bathhouse in Awaji Yumesenkei, you can also enjoy a tour of the seaside baths.
Awaji Rice Terrace Baths is located in the bathhouse, Spa Terrace Suigetsu. Three baths, each designed to resemble the rice terraces of Awaji Island, where rice cultivation has been popular since ancient times, are filled with water from Sumoto Onsen, Furumoe Onsen, and Bamboo Charcoal Onsen.
Awaji Island, the "Land of Food," where the "Legend of the Creation of the Land," which opens the Kojiki, lives on, is a treasure trove of ingredients, boasting a self-sufficiency rate of an astounding 107%. For dinner, enjoy the bounty of the fertile sea and land. You can enjoy delicious food centered on seafood freshly landed at the port, such as Sakuradai and Awajishima Sakuramasu in spring, Awajishima conger eel in summer, Pacific octopus and spiny lobster at their peak from summer to autumn, autumn red snapper and autumn conger eel in autumn, and Awajishima three-year-old tiger pufferfish, a branded ingredient, in winter, as well as Awaji beef, onions, and rice, all of which have been raised in the rich natural environment. You will be overwhelmed by the pleasure of the food, which exceeds what you have heard.
Awaji Island is a place where the bounty of the sea and the land has come together, unchanged since the time of the Manyo period. No matter when you visit, you can encounter delicious food with plenty of fresh seafood and vegetables in every season.
