Travel around the islands in search of Ise-Shima brand ingredients. We also recommend a gourmet trip to coincide with the opening of the fishing ban.

As a region with a history of offering food to the Imperial Court and Ise Grand Shrine as Miketsukuni, Ise-Shima is rich in high-quality seafood (see the seasonal calendar below). Ise-lobster, which boasts the highest catch volume in Japan; natural tiger pufferfish, Anori fugu; Matoya oysters, a favorite among gourmets who love raw food; and abalone, which is carefully collected one by one by female divers. All of these are Ise-Shima brand ingredients, and the pursuit of their deliciousness is a great motivation for island travel.

Located on Watakano Island in Matoya Bay, Fukujyuso Lobster Kaiseki" course, which features lobster served in a bucket, charcoal-grilled, and in miso soup; and the "Luxury Kaiseki" course, which includes lobster sashimi, Matsusaka beef stew, and skewered tempura. From April to October, the "Three Great Winter Tastes Kaiseki" course, which features lobster sashimi, grilled abalone, and Matsusaka beef stew, is also popular.

We also recommend time your trip to coincide with the opening of the fishing season. Spiny lobsters, which are caught from October to April, are fresh and just landed in gillnets off the coast of Wagu. They are an exquisite delicacy with firm flesh. The winter gourmet plan will wow even the most discerning gourmets with the "Three Great Winter Flavors Kaiseki," which includes Matoya oysters, which are caught from November to March, and Anori puffer fish, which is caught from November to February. The "Matoya Oyster Kaiseki," which is cooked in a Japanese, Western and Chinese style, and the "Anori puffer fish kaiseki," which is enjoyed as sashimi, in a hot pot or fried, are both irresistibly delicious. The inn spares no effort to ensure that you can enjoy the seafood at its best during the season when it is at its tastiest.

Fukujyuso's Seasonal Travel Calendar
Relax in the high-grade modern guest room "Misakitei" and enjoy great relaxation in the open-air garden bath filled with natural therapeutic spring water.

When seafood tastes good, it's cold, so you start to miss hot springs. Watakanoshima is the only remote island in Ise-Shima where you can enjoy hot springs. The inn's hot spring is a private spring that gushes out from the ocean at 1,300 meters, at 1,200 liters per minute. It's a natural therapeutic spring that you can either soak in or drink. The baths are spectacular. The garden open-air bath "Wind-Waiting Bath," connected to the accommodation building by a bathing corridor, has an indoor bath, barrel bath, rock bath, waterfall bath, walking bath, and reclining bath, which are alternated for men and women, allowing you to enjoy bathing in the baths.

Fukujyuso open-air bath The open-air bath is filled with natural therapeutic spring water that springs from the sea.

After your bath, there is a drinking fountain, tea dispenser, and time-limited sweets set available to soothe your throat and soul. On the sixth floor are the large observation baths "Matoya Bay" and "Shima Bay," popular for their breathtaking views. The morning sun painting the calm Matoya Bay a crimson red is a memorable sight. From July to August, you can also see the fireworks at Shima Spain Village in the distance. In the two private baths that can be used by couples, you can enjoy the natural hot spring water. After your bath, you can cool off at the "Umihotaru Terrace," where you can enjoy the atmosphere of a port town that flourished as a port waiting out the wind, and the ships passing by on the island.

The island is also home to sister hotels, the inn "Haifu," where all rooms have ocean views and open-air hot spring baths, and the family resort "Umibe no Hotel Hana." Guests can also experience the ultimate relaxation at the Ayurvedic beauty salon at "Haifu."
