Hakodate opened its ports as a trading city and developed into a nostalgic town where Japanese and Western cultures blended together while accepting foreign cultures. The Bourou NOGUCHI Hakodate is a luxurious space that blends in with that atmosphere. The artistic, Japanese-modern design evokes the atmosphere of Hakodate, creating a holiday where adults can unleash their playful side.
There are three types of guest rooms that are designed to cater to a variety of travel styles. The "Maisonette Suite" is a luxurious room with an area of 120 m2 that will draw you into an extraordinary experience. Based on the concept of the inn to live like a local, the linear design eliminates all unnecessary elements and is spaciously arranged with comfortable sofas and twin beds that will invite a good night's sleep. The hot spring observation bath, which can fit a family of three to four, offers a panoramic view of the city of Hakodate.
Also located on the 11th and 12th floors is "Wa Modern," which skillfully expresses the Taisho-era romance that permeates Hakodate. The stained glass and retro furnishings create a space that exudes nostalgia yet still feels new and timeless. The observation bath is scheduled for renovation in 2023. This is the appeal of being on a high floor. You can also see the cityscape of Hakodate and planes taking off and landing at the airport. The 30m2 "Ohitorisama" room, equipped with a sofa and double bed, is perfect for solo travelers. It is a slightly luxurious space that is an extension of your everyday life.
Located on the higher floors, this "Modern Japanese" room is 60㎡ and has a separate bedroom and living space.
Dinner is the inn's original Japanese-Western kaiseki cuisine, arranged with many ingredients from Hokkaido and Aomori. Five dining options are available depending on the plan. The menu changes with the seasons: in spring, Hokkaido's budding crops, in summer seafood and fresh ingredients representative of the southern Hokkaido and Seikan areas, in autumn bountiful harvests, and in winter, seasonal delicacies. Based on the concept of "land, beauty, and blessings," the dishes are made with carefully selected local ingredients, and are visually vibrant and satisfying. Guests can also enjoy the premium rice "Fukkuriinko," which has been awarded an A rating in the "Rice Taste Ranking" for three consecutive years since the beginning of the Reiwa era. We also recommend the "pairing set," which allows you to enjoy the marriage of food and carefully selected sake.
The restaurant "CHIKURIN" is set in a bamboo forest shrouded in mist and features a Japanese style and innovative design.
An example of the hotel's original Japanese-Western kaiseki cuisine made with seasonal ingredients. For guests staying multiple nights, the specialty of the Bourou Hakodate, the traditional high-class soup of Chinese Fujian cuisine, "Buddha Jumps Over the Wall Thousand Years Steamed" will also be served.
The open-air observation bath and the large observation bath are the highest places in Yunokawa Onsen where you can enjoy a spectacular view and hot springs. During the day, you can see the ridge of Mt. Hakodate and planes taking off and landing at Hakodate Airport, and at night, you can see the starry sky and the fishing lights of the Tsugaru Strait floating in the darkness. It is truly a blissful time. After the bath, you can cool down in the Sky Salon, which seems to be floating in the starry sky, while enjoying one of Japan's three most beautiful night views and 10 types of drinks, including free-service sparkling wine and draft beer.
For breakfast, you can enjoy the hotel's signature dishes, which combine Japanese and Western styles, such as the classic grilled fish and Western-style shabu-shabu made with Onuma beef. The hotel strives for a breath of modernity amidst nostalgia. The space of "Hakodate Chishin" presents this.
