Located on the shores of Lake Akan, Tsuruga offers a resort with endless fun. Starting April 1, 2024, the neighboring Tsuruga Wings will be merged into Tsuruga, further upgrading the hotel's hospitality. In conjunction with the merger, the hotel buildings will be named Annex Miyabi, Main Building Komorebi, Main Building Rera, Main Building Shiori, and Wings Building, and not only will the number of guest rooms increase significantly, but the number of dining venues will also increase to two, buffet restaurants Tenkawa and HAPO. There are now more accommodation plans to suit different travel styles, including guest rooms and restaurant venues, and guests can freely use the public facilities in each building, making the stay even more appealing.
The open-air bath "Tennyo-no-Yu" on the 8th floor lets you feel blissful surrounded by the magnificent panorama of Lake Akan and the Akan Mountain Range.
The best part is the dome-shaped observation sauna that opened on the rooftop of the observation bath on December 24, 2022. It is 2.8m high, 3.5m in diameter, and can accommodate 8 people. The entire 360-degree surface is made of the world's first "insulated double-glazed" glass, and the spherical surface is coated with special glass, so you can enjoy the great nature of Akan during the day and the shining moon at night while in the sauna. It feels like you are surrounded by the great nature of Akan in 360 degrees. The sauna is an authentic Finnish-style sauna, and you can sweat with self-loyly, go outside and bathe in Akan's clear air and negative ions to achieve a state of "refreshment." The observation sauna on the 8th floor is a self-loyly sauna where aromatic water is poured over the sauna, and the sauna on the 1st floor is a special mist sauna that performs auto-loyly every 5 minutes.
You can also enjoy an auto-louver sauna with aromatic mist water.
For dinner, guests can enjoy a buffet with 100 dishes ranging from Japanese, Western and Chinese cuisine to sweets and desserts at either of the Hokkaido buffet restaurants, Tenkawa in the Main Building or HAPO in the Wings Building, both of which feature open kitchens, as well as a Japanese meal incorporating Hokkaido's seafood and mountain produce and seasonal ingredients.
Since reopening, "Kitarikyu Ryotei" has been creating a lot of buzz. It offers detached private rooms, special rooms, semi-private rooms, and counter seats for solo diners. The cuisine includes the beautiful special kaiseki "Yuho" course, which is like a seasonal painting, and the Japanese kaiseki "Shisui" course, which allows you to enjoy the seasonal flavors of the Lake Akan area and the Okhotsk Sea. This is the kind of culinary hospitality that Tsuruga puts all his heart and soul into. The space creates a luxurious dining experience, and the delicacies are full of the bounty of the north. Their presence also adds depth to an extraordinary stay.
