"Nikko Senhime Monogatari" Kaiseki cuisine featuring Nikko yuba and local flavors
Nikko Yuba and seasonal ingredients

Nikko Senhime Monogatari boasts an excellent location, just a five-minute walk from the World Heritage sites of Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Futarasan Shrine, and Rinnoji Temple. As its name suggests, the inn is filled with feminine kindness, and is popular with mother-daughter trips and girls' getaways. The attentive hospitality of the inn's staff, who call female guests "princesses," is a welcome gesture.

For dinner, the chef will serve a specially selected kaiseki menu with an emphasis on locally produced ingredients. The basic dish, "Senhime Gozen," is a colorful course that uses plenty of seasonal ingredients, including Nikko yuba (tofu skin) served in a Kyoto-style stew. For gourmets, we also recommend the "Special Kaiseki Zen," which upgrades the main course to shabu-shabu made with brand-name wagyu beef, "A5 Rank Tochigi Wagyu."

Another must-try is the monthly "Seasonal Artisan Kaiseki Meal," which delights even the most discerning gourmets. This is the inn's pride and joy, featuring locally sourced seasonal ingredients, Ebiya's top-quality yuba (tofu skin) set meal, and A5-rank Tochigi Wagyu beef.

All meals are made with Nikko Anshin Rice (Koshihikari), a specially cultivated rice grown by local farmers using reduced pesticides and no chemical fertilizers.

The breakfast menu is also excellent, with the soy milk tofu made with Nikko's delicious water and domestically grown soybeans being simmered right at the table and eaten piping hot.

There are also accommodation plans that include a tour of Nikko's world heritage sites.

There are nine types of guest rooms in the hotel, all of which offer spacious spaces overlooking the natural beauty of the Daiya River and are filled with traditional Japanese beauty. In 2022, a Japanese-style twin room with a semi-open-air bath was introduced, which becomes a completely open-air bath when the window is fully opened.

The hot spring facilities are full of facilities that are popular with women, such as the large public bath and open-air bath where you can enjoy alkaline simple spring water that is known for its skin-beautifying effects, the Termare Mist Sauna where ultra-fine water droplets moisturize the skin and hair, and the Silky Bath. Of course, there are also plenty of facilities for men to enjoy, with two types of saunas, dry and mist.

In addition to the regular accommodation plan, there is also a plan that includes sightseeing at Nikko's two shrines and one temple, as well as accommodation. Why not enjoy your trip to this World Heritage site to your heart's content?
