Lucent Takamiya's "Hagakure no Yu" boasts 100% natural hot spring water.
Hagakure no Yu: A rustic atmosphere

Zao Onsen is said to have been in operation for over 1,900 years and boasts the longest history in the Tohoku region. Located a short distance from the "Hyoujiao Street" that cuts through the hot spring town, Lucent Takamiya is a hot spring resort hotel where, as its name suggests, you can relax and enjoy the famous Zao Onsen.

The hotel boasts an abundant supply of hot spring water, which is 100% free-flowing from the source of Zao Onsen and has a reputation for being "water for beautiful skin" and "water for fertility." President Hirokazu Okazaki proudly states, "Not only is the quality of the hot spring water great, but the spaciousness and atmosphere of the baths make this a popular hotel within the Takamiya Ryokan Group."

The Hagakure no Yu baths are beautifully decorated

The facility is equipped with both indoor and outdoor baths for both men and women. The outdoor bath, "Hagakure no Yu," is particularly notable for its rustic atmosphere. With the trees of the Zao Plateau spreading out before your eyes and the breeze blowing through, the slightly warm water is so comfortable you'll find yourself soaking for a long time. In the coming season, you can enjoy bathing while looking out at the autumn leaves and snowy scenery.

In addition, a small bathtub that can fit 3-4 people has recently been installed next to the existing open-air bath. Since it does not cool down as easily as the large bathtub, it is recommended for those who like hotter hot springs.

"Komorohi no Yu" has a hidden hot spring atmosphere

Rock-made "Komorohi no Yu"

The indoor bath is "Komorehi no Yu," which is filled with hot spring water. The sight of hot spring deposits dancing in the rock-built bathtub has earned it a reputation for creating the atmosphere of a hidden hot spring. Next to Komorehi no Yu is "Hinoki no Yu," a bathtub made of cypress wood and filled with boiled water. Zao Onsen is a highly acidic hot spring, the second most acidic in Japan. It's fun to try different ways to bathe, such as alternating between the hot spring water and the boiled water, or using the Hinoki no Yu as a bath after rinsing off.

Yamagata beef hotpot

If you stay at this hotel, you can freely enjoy the baths of seven bathhouses in the Takamiya Group, including Meitousha So and JURIN, all of which are part of the Meitousha Takamiya Ryokan Group in Zao Onsen . We also recommend taking a stroll around the hot spring town and enjoying the baths.
