Delicious to drink, smooth to bathe in, "Kannon Onsen" - Pure Skin Water
"Natural Skin Bath" gives you a smooth feeling that goes beyond "beautiful skin"
Kannon Onsen, a "drinkable hot spring inn with its own free-flowing hot spring" in Oku-Shimoda, Izu, is a single inn with an exquisite hot spring nestled in the lush mountains. In 1963, the previous president began drilling for the hot spring, and when the hot spring water began to flow, he unearthed a "Kannon statue," and Kannon Onsen was born.
The rich alkaline spring water with a pH of 9.5, super soft water with a hardness of less than 1, and an abundance of the beauty ingredient silica gushes out at a rate of 500 liters per minute. Bathing in the water leaves your skin as smooth as a newborn baby's, and it has come to be known as the "spring of virgin skin," going beyond "beautiful skin."
The spring water is delicious and perfect for drinking, and it also has the effect of balancing the body's acidity, which tends to be biased. The "Drinkable Hot Spring Kannon Onsen" provided on the premises is a reliable spring water that has won both the Grand Gold Award and the International Quality Award at the Monde Selection in the past, and has been recognized by three-star restaurants in Tokyo. It is used in all cooking methods at the restaurant, including boiling, cooking, and steaming.
From day trips to lodgings with open-air baths...Enjoy hot springs in a variety of styles
There are two large public baths: "Galatia Kannon no Yu" and the day-trip hot spring "Kannon Principle." Galatia's signature baths are the "large cypress bath," which makes full use of the on-site natural resources and has a rich fragrance, and the "starry sky open-air bath," where you can enjoy a bath while gazing at the starry sky. The day-trip hot spring was created with the desire to make Kannon Onsen more accessible.
There are four accommodation buildings: "Pygmalion," an inner room with a private open-air bath; "Main Building," with a full-height cypress bath; "Seiunkan," which boasts a cypress-style garden in a lush forest zone; and "Ubusuna-tei," the building where Kannon Onsen was first established and where four connecting rooms have been created. Ubusuna-tei can accommodate three generations of a family at the same time and is equipped with a foot bath, allowing families to spend time together in the bath. Another feature of Kannon Onsen is that all the baths leading to the guest rooms are "direct from the source," and sufficient consideration has been given to barrier-free access, with many handrails and steps eliminated.
