THE KUKUNA is a spa resort with 65 rooms overlooking Lake Kawaguchi and Mount Fuji. The grand spa, Ozora no Yu, on the top floor is divided into two sections, Hoshi (Star) and Tsuki (Moon), which are alternated between men and women. The infinity open-air baths in both areas are designed to blend in with the lake, and are popular for their sensation of floating in the sky and exceptional sense of openness.
You can also see Mount Fuji from the large public bath.
The water is a sodium and calcium chloride spring with excellent heat retention properties, and is effective for neuralgia, skin diseases, etc. The indoor baths include a standing bath and steam sauna in "Hoshi," and a half-body bath and dry sauna in "Tsuki," so sauna lovers will be pleased with the facilities.
