The soothing scent of cypress at Suimeikan's "Beauty Bath"
A relaxing bath surrounded by the scent of cypress
Suimeikan , one of Japan's three most famous Gero Onsen springs, has large public baths in each of its buildings: Rinsenkaku, Sansuikaku, and Hisenkaku. All of the large public baths are available to guests, and the smooth, "beauty bath" is highly rated.
Located on the third floor of Rinsenkaku, Shimodome-no-Yu is exclusively for guests, and with a Japanese garden stretching out outside the window and the scent of wood permeating the entire bath area, it is a space that will soothe both body and mind. The luxurious design allows for a wide variety of enjoyment, including a high-temperature bath, a low-temperature bath, a cypress bath, and a sauna. The facility is entirely focused on cypress, with cypress used in the ceiling, walls, and pillars.
Elaborate facilities such as open-air baths and private baths
On the first floor of Sansuikaku, there are two rustic open-air baths surrounded by greenery and huge rocks: the "Ryujin no Yu" for men and the "Kannon no Yu" for women. The breeze blowing through the mountains is pleasant, and you can enjoy a blissful soak in the hot springs while gazing at the starry sky of Hida. Both men's and women's baths also have an indoor "Botanburo" bath.
The "Observation Large Bath" on the 9th floor of Hisenkaku is a bright and spacious large bath. From the glass windows on the entire floor, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the hot spring town and the Hida mountains. It's great that it's available 24 hours a day! *Excluding cleaning times
On the fourth floor of Rinsenkaku, there are two private baths and a bedrock bath.
The private bath, "Shichiri no Yu," is a purely Japanese-style cypress bath with a woody scent. It features a spacious changing room with few steps. The other bath, "Oribe no Yu," is a retro-style ceramic bath.
The heated natural stones in the bedrock bath have far-infrared and negative ion effects that help users relax, improve their health, and heal. The stones used are a variety of types, including Maifan stone, lava stone, vibration stone, and Bad Gastein stone, a precious radium ore that is one of the world's top quality stones. You can experience the comfort of nature.
Another great feature is that you can check the congestion status of all the large baths on the TV in your room and on monitors located throughout the building. This is a convenient service when you are going on a hot spring tour.
