Experience the Japanese spirit at Asanoya, where you'll be welcomed with tea, flowers, and incense
Hospitality with tea ceremony, flower arrangement, and incense ceremony
The Asanoya of Yumura Onsen in Hyogo Prefecture are descendants of the lord of Yunojo Castle. Since its founding in 1967, the family has continued to run the inn while cherishing the traditional atmosphere and culture. As a facility that continues to inherit the Genroku culture that flourished during the Edo period, the concept is hospitality through the three arts of tea ceremony, flower arrangement, and incense appreciation.
The hotel has staff who are skilled in these three arts, and the proprietress herself arranges flowers to decorate the hotel.
Create a memorable stay with fragrance
The Asanoya is also particular about the art of incense, and has commissioned original incense from a long-established incense store in Kyoto, which is burned in the entrance and lobby, and is also provided in incense baskets in each guest room. As scents are closely linked to memories, the hotel hopes that guests will always be reminded of the Asanoya.
The hotel is also proud of its hot springs. From the hot spring air conditioning and heating to the bathrooms and washbasins in all rooms, the natural hot spring water of 98 degrees flows from the hotel's own source. The low-temperature geothermal sauna, at 60-65 degrees, is also very popular, and its gentle warmth, similar to that of a bedrock bath, is especially popular with female guests.
