Feel the blessings of nature with your skin. Kannon Onsen: A hotel with drinkable hot springs and its own free-flowing hot spring water
Relax in the exquisite spring water, known as "bath for pure skin"
Kannon Onsen, an inn in Oku-Shimoda, Izu, where you can enjoy drinkable hot spring water and natural hot spring water, is a single inn with an exquisite hot spring source nestled in the lush mountains of Oku-Shimoda, Izu. In 1963, when the previous president began digging for the hot spring, a Kannon statue was unearthed along with the hot water, and Kannon Onsen was born.
This superb spring, rich in alkaline water with a pH of 9.5, super soft water with a hardness of less than 1, and rich in the beauty ingredient silica, gushes out at a rate of 500 liters per minute. Bathing in this spring leaves your skin as smooth as a newborn baby's, and it has come to be known as the "spring for newborn skin," going beyond just "beautiful skin."
The delicious spring water is perfect for drinking and also has the effect of balancing the body's acidity, which tends to be an issue. The "Drinkable Hot Kannon Onsen," which is filled on-site, is a reliable spring water that has won both the Grand Gold Award and the International Quality Award at the Monde Selection in the past, and has been recognized by three-star restaurants in Tokyo. It is used in all cooking methods at the restaurant, including boiling, cooking, and steaming.
Various ways to enjoy bathing in the hot springs. Enjoy the exquisite hot springs whether you're a day trip or staying overnight.
There are two large public baths: Galatia Kannon no Yu and the day-trip hot spring Kannon Principle. Galatia's signature baths are the "large cypress bath," which makes full use of the cypress wood on the premises and has a rich fragrance, and the "starry sky open-air bath," where you can enjoy a bath while gazing at the starry sky. The day-trip hot spring was created with the desire to make Kannon Onsen more accessible.
There are four accommodation buildings: "Pygmalion," an inner room with a private open-air bath; "Main Building," with a full-height cypress bath; "Seiunkan," which boasts a cypress-style garden in a lush forest zone; and "Ubusuna-tei," the building where Kannon Kannon Onsen was first established and where four connecting rooms have been created. Ubusuna-tei can accommodate three generations of a family at the same time, and is equipped with a foot bath so that families can gather around the bath and chat. Another feature of Kannon Onsen is that all the baths leading to the guest rooms are "direct from the source," and sufficient consideration has been given to barrier-free access, with many handrails and no steps installed.
