The open-air bath at the large public bath "Kosensho" is fed by the second hot spring source "Milky Water". You can enjoy the sulfur spring water directly from the source.

Kinugasa no Yu is the closest to the source, so you can enjoy the third hot spring, which is the most typical of Unzen.

This inn is located in the hell zone of Unzen. The four private hot springs on the premises gush out abundant hot water with force.
The springs are strong acidic sulfur springs that contain metasilicic acid, a natural moisturizing ingredient that promotes beautiful skin, but the concentration of these ingredients and the color of each of the four springs are slightly different. The inn offers baths with different themes where you can enjoy the effects of each of the four springs.
The family bath "Madoka" is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and you can enjoy 100% free-flowing water from the first hot spring (the milky white water). Soaking in the rustic rock bath will leave your skin lustrous and beautiful. The second hot spring (the translucent water) is poured into "Kosensho", which is alternated between men and women in the morning and evening. It is perfect for improving blood circulation and relieving fatigue, and the open-air bath offers a wonderful bathing experience while gazing at the greenery of the trees.
The third hot spring is a "highly concentrated water" that flows freely into the underground men's large bath, Kinugasa-no-Yu, and the women's large bath, Kasho-no-Yu. As it is closest to the source, the sulfur content and freshness remain intact, making it popular as the hot spring that is most characteristic of Unzen. You can also enjoy the open-air garden bath in the gazebo. In the "Tsukitei" guest room, which is limited to four rooms with an open-air bath (subject to accommodation), you can enjoy the fourth hot spring, "cloudy white water," which is 100% flowing directly from the inn's own source. Overlooking the garden that tells of the inn's 100-year history. The scent of sulfur and the colors of the season blend together in the steam from the hot spring.

Let the hot spring soothe your body and mind.
Hospitality with a high-quality space and outstanding cuisine

The guest rooms are centered around Japanese relaxation, and include two exclusive VIP rooms, the Royal Suite, a modern Japanese-style suite overlooking the garden, the Tatami Superior, a two-room adjoining pure Japanese-style room, and the fully renovated standard Japanese-Western room Kan, offering cozy spaces perfect for a quality relaxing stay.
The Shimabara Peninsula is a treasure trove of ingredients, known as the stomach of Kyushu. The inn has made the "Shimabara Peninsula 15-mile Declaration" to use as much fresh local produce as possible from within a 15-mile radius, and prepares an original kaiseki meal that changes monthly.
The delicacies, born from free ideas unconstrained by traditional Japanese cuisine, are visually stunning and taste superb. You can enjoy the chef's specially selected Gasen Kaiseki, Gessen Kaiseki, and Fusen Kaiseki.
After relaxing in this high-quality space and enjoying the delicious food, your mind will turn to the hot springs, overflowing with the aroma of sulfur.
