Enjoy the Yubatake hot spring water, which flows directly from the source, in the baths and guest rooms with water at different temperatures.
Applause also rang out for the "Four types of delightful kaiseki meals in four dining establishments!"
The Yubatake hot spring is said to be of the highest quality in Kusatsu. In Takamatsu, which is about a four-minute walk from the tourist spot, the hot spring water is drawn directly from the Yubatake and flows into all the baths. This means that you can enjoy "raw hot spring water" at any time.
At the large public bath "Megumi," you can enjoy the natural hot spring water in three baths: warm, moderate, and hot. You can also enjoy the pleasure of the natural hot spring water at the large public bath "Izumi," which features three open-air baths: a rock bath, a cypress bath, and a ceramic bath. In 2024, the open-air bath and the area after the bath will be renovated, making the hot spring relaxation even more enjoyable.
Popular guest rooms include premium rooms on higher floors overlooking Ura Kusatsu and the surrounding mountains, and semi-suite Japanese-Western rooms where you can enjoy the hot springs without leaving your room, but in 2023, two extraordinary new guest rooms, "Tenkyu" and "Judama," were opened, equipped with a semi-open-air bath with natural hot spring water, a sauna, and a cold bath. They are also excellent for "relaxing" the body and mind. The facilities are so good that you'll want to stay for several nights.
In 2024, a lounge with drink service (16:00-18:00) will be built in the lobby. The second floor will have a coin laundry, PC corner, microwave, ice maker, and vending machines. A wooden deck has also been newly built, creating an open and relaxing travel experience.
A premium guest room that opened in 2023. "Tenkyu" features a semi-open-air bath, sauna, cold bath, living room, and bedroom.
The attraction is the food
Takamatsu offers exquisite gourmet food in a variety of dining spaces with the concept of "four types of delightful kaiseki cuisine."
At the restaurant "Kiwami," you can find a variety of dishes that will impress even the most gourmet, such as a hotpot of the highest quality carefully selected Joshu Wagyu beef, locally caught freshwater trout and seafood sashimi, sauteed chateaubriand and foie gras, main dishes with truffles, and specially selected nigiri sushi.
At Shunsai Nabeya Kirakutei, which has an open kitchen, you can enjoy the ultimate cuisine, mainly made with ingredients from Gunma Prefecture, such as sukiyaki, teppanyaki, and shabu-shabu, as well as Joshu Wagyu beef. You can also enjoy monthly special dishes in private when dining in your room.
On the top floor is the "Main Dining Kiboho", which also serves as the breakfast venue. It is a half-buffet style where you can enjoy both a monthly kaiseki meal and a buffet.
The new building, "Aeru Yado Takamatsu," is a one-minute walk away. Based on the concept of "blending Japanese and Western styles," the hotel has a modern Japanese space with a balcony in every room, and offers three types of rooms equipped with Simmons beds, including rooms with open-air baths that draw on Yubatake hot spring water. The hotel also offers a large public bath where you can enjoy the hot spring water, an open-air bath, a bedrock bath, a sauna, a restaurant with a half-buffet of freshly baked bread, a free-use computer corner, and a cafe lounge with free drinks, so you can enjoy it however you like.
"Reiron" is a modern Japanese-style room with an open-air bath on the fourth floor. It also has a fireplace, so you can stay comfortable even in the middle of winter.
