INDEX
The six "Japanese Jr. Suites with Open-Air Baths" were opened in March 2023. In the space designed with the five colors of Kaga as a motif, you can relax in the open-air bath that draws water from the No. 1 source of Yamashiro Onsen, as well as in a 15-tatami Japanese-style room equipped with a Sealy double-sized twin bed and a BoConcept sofa.
Yamashiro Onsen is the best in the Hokuriku region, boasting 1,300 years of history. Walking through the Yunogawa area surrounding the main bath, you can see the original scenery of the hot spring town with its red latticework and rows of lanterns.
Tachibana Shikitei is a long-established inn that blends seamlessly into that atmosphere. It has a history of hospitality spanning more than 150 years. Opposite the inn is the ancient temple Yakuoin Onsenji, which is associated with the history of the discovery of hot springs and the origin of the Japanese alphabet. Next door is Iroha Soan, where Kitaoji Rosanjin, who has a connection to the inn, stayed. It is in the perfect location to experience the sophistication of the Yamadai period and its many pleasures.
A fusion of "Yamashiro chic" and comfort.
Kaga Gosai themed guest rooms
The guest rooms also exude a traditional chic. The rooms are decorated with Wajima-nuri doors, original Kutani ware handles, Kutani ware vases collected by successive owners, and seasonal hanging scrolls, giving the rooms a unique feel that can only be found at an inn in Kaga.
The spaces have also been carefully designed, with rooms such as "Moegi-iro" (light green), which is a grass-green colour inspired by the five colours of Kaga, and rooms named "Kodai-murasaki" (ancient purple), providing a stay worthy of Kaga.
The "Japanese Junior Suite with Open-Air Bath" was created in 2024. Each of the six rooms is designed with the five colors of the Kaga period as its motif, and features a 15-tatami Japanese-style room with a Sealy double bed and a BoConcept sofa, as well as an open-air bath filled with the first spring water from Yamashiro Onsen Onsen. Guests can enjoy the spectacular view from the large windows. Breakfast and dinner are served at the newly created private dining area "Senshinkan," where guests can enjoy a variety of freshly prepared delicacies at the perfect time.
Also reopening at the same time were the "Junior Suite with Hinoki Panoramic Bath," which has been renovated with a Japanese-style room and twin bed space that evokes the essence of Kaga, and the "Ochre-iro" premium Japanese-Western room with a barrier-free open-air panoramic bath, which has been completely renovated from a Western-style room. Both rooms have been remarkably improved in terms of livability. Guests can surrender themselves to Yamashiro's soothing hot springs and comfortable spaces.
The large women's bath, Sakon no Yu, has a granite bathtub filled with hot spring water. The open-air garden bath surrounded by trees is particularly appealing.
Enjoy the world-famous, precious hot spring in a spacious bath
One of the few hot springs in Yamashiro Onsen, this spring is world-famous, having won a gold medal at the International Mineral Springs Exposition held in Germany in the early Taisho period. At the inn, it is known as "Aiueo no Yu" (Aiueo hot spring) and flows into the men's and women's baths.
The men's large bath, "Ukon no Yu," is designed to overlook the garden while bathing in the large bath and two open-air baths that are connected inside and out. The women's large bath, "Sakkon no Yu," is designed to let you enjoy the open-air garden bath in the sunlight filtering through the trees, and there is also a partitioned powder room in the changing room. The ceilings, walls, gazebos and pillars of the open-air baths have all been renovated, allowing you to refresh in a bright and open atmosphere.
Tachibana Tachibana Shikitei is located in Yunokuruwa, the heart of Yamashiro Onsen Onsen, making it convenient for sightseeing.
The attraction is the food
Seasonal "creative kaiseki cuisine"
For the long-awaited dinner, the chef has committed to using locally produced ingredients and prepared a creative kaiseki meal that makes the most of the natural flavor of seasonal ingredients. Guests can enjoy this in their room, a style unique to a Japanese inn, or in a private dining room where the "Senshinkan" sign, created by Rosanjin, is displayed.
A variety of dishes that are a feast for the eyes and the tongue are served one after another on colorful Kutani ware, using fresh seafood, Noto beef, and Kaga vegetables that are caught daily from Noto, with its crystal clear waters, and Hashidate Port, a good fishing ground.
You can enjoy seasonal delicacies such as "Noto Beef and Local Fish Kaiseki" in spring, "Black Abalone Kaiseki" in summer, "Nodoguro Kaiseki" in autumn, and "Hashidate Crab Kaiseki" featuring tagged top-quality crab in winter.
Guests staying in the "Premium Japanese-Western Room" with attached dining kitchen can also enjoy a premium course meal (limited to one group per day) in which the head chef will visit their room and prepare sushi and tempura right in front of them.
Breakfast is served in the room and guests can enjoy a menu that makes use of local ingredients, including freshly cooked Koshihikari rice sourced directly from local contracted farmers. Breakfast is served until 10 a.m. The relaxed schedule is an attraction unique to this inn, which allows for a 21-hour stay with check-in at 3 p.m. and check-out at 12 p.m.
Walking along the corridors paved with natural, solid paulownia wood feels soft and gentle on your bare feet, and you can experience the "Hiragana Hospitality" that the inn promotes. During your stay, be sure to take a stroll around the Yunokuruwa. Colorful yukata robes are provided for women, and samue for men.
