Otanisanso offers a relaxing and high-quality experience amidst a landscape woven with the rich nature of Nagato, including the lush green mountains and the Otozure River.
There are a total of 23 types of guest rooms. The 21 suites, divided into 10 types, each with an open-air bath with natural hot spring water, overlooking five different landscapes: the mountain side, the river side, the stream side, the garden side, and the riverside, are what could be called a space of symbiosis with nature.
Two "Otanisanso Suites" at 120 m2 will be built on the garden side in 2023. They are the largest rooms with an open-air bath and are the only ones equipped with a self-loyly sauna, a cold bath, and a terrace with a sofa for outdoor bathing, offering a private space to relax.
The top floor features a one-of-a-kind "Garden Junior Suite" that overlooks the irreplaceable nature, and on the river side, 32 rooms have been created as "Akebono Premium" rooms, a Japanese-modern space that will set a new standard for lodging. Perfect for consecutive nights or for resting. The rooms are arranged in a way that makes you want to reserve them for each season.
You can enjoy the hot springs that have been flowing since the Muromachi period in the "Seseragi no Yu" baths, where the sound of the river is soothing, and the "Komorebi no Yu" baths, where sunlight gently pours in. Because the baths are rotated, you can enjoy all 11 baths, including the indoor bath, the cypress open-air bath, the rock open-air bath, the jacuzzi bath, and the reclining bath. The water is a simple alkaline spring with a soft texture. The longer you soak in it, the more moisturized your skin becomes.

A private dining room has also been opened, exclusively for guests staying in suites with outdoor baths that use natural hot spring water. The cuisine is based on the philosophy of Santo cuisine, which states that local produce should be eaten locally, using local cooking methods, and is served in a monthly changing kaiseki meal using seasonal ingredients from Nagato, which is rich in food. In a private space, you can communicate with the chef through each and every dish... This is one of the joys of traveling. Seasonal kaiseki meals are also available.
There are also a variety of dining options within the hotel. Teppanyaki restaurant Nagato is popular for its nine-course dinner, which includes Yamaguchi Prefecture black wagyu beef sirloin or fillet spiny lobster, as well as other local ingredients such as Nagato tiger pufferfish and abalone.

During your stay, you will have plenty to enjoy, including the traditional culture of Nagato Yumoto, works from the Hagi-yaki Fukagawa Kiln, a corner displaying works by children's song poet Misuzu Kaneko, an astronomical dome equipped with a full-scale telescope, a foot bath, and more. There is also a rooftop terrace where you can gaze upon the abundant nature and stars, and a riverside terrace where you can relax and unleash your five senses.
