Matsusaki is located in the inner sanctum of Kanazawa. In this tranquil, green space, you can experience a luxurious time that makes you forget about time. Enjoy the heartfelt hospitality that only a traditional Japanese inn can provide, and the gourmet pleasure of kaiseki cuisine made with the seasonal bounty of Ishikawa. Surrendering yourself to the soft hot spring water and feeling the breath of the changing seasons in the garden is truly a state of bliss.
The hospitality staff who look after each guest from the moment they arrive until the moment they leave, and the landlady who personally visits to greet them are also major attractions of the inn. The essence of Matsusaki is its familiarity within its formality, and its generosity in warmly welcoming guests with children.
All guest rooms are in the Sukiya-style building, and there are 14 different types in four buildings: the "Ho-o Wing," the "Main Building Zuiun Wing," and the "Main Building Momoyama-an and Shoju-an," all of which offer luxurious spaces one rank above the rest. The Ho-o Wing in particular is equipped with an open-air hot spring bath and an indoor bath in every room, promising a superb stay in both space and scenery. Four of the six types in the Main Building Zuiun Wing are equipped with semi-open-air hot spring baths, allowing you to choose the room type that best suits your needs.
Located in Tatsunokuchi Onsen, which has been in operation for 1,400 years, Matsusaki was founded in Tempo 7 during the Edo period. The hot springs, which have served as the inner sanctum of Kanazawa and have soothed many people, are 100% sourced from the hot springs. The Houou Building is equipped with two open-air observation baths on the fifth floor, which offer views of the Hakusan mountain range and the starry sky, the cypress-built "Mokusei" and the rock bath "Gyokuryu."
On the first floor of the main building is a large public bath facing the Azuchi-Momoyama Garden. The alternating baths, where the water temperature is 36.5 degrees and the large 40-degree bath are alternately bathed, are very popular.

At Matsusaki, guests can enjoy seasonal kaiseki cuisine in their rooms, carefully prepared using the most delicious local Hokuriku ingredients of the season and cooking methods that bring out the natural flavors of the ingredients.
The "Shunsai Kaiseki" course, which changes monthly, is a traditional Matsusaki dish. It is made with the passion of the head chef, who is originally from Noto and knows all about the local seasonal ingredients. Guests staying in the Ho-o Wing can enjoy the luxury of a shunsai kaiseki course made with carefully selected ingredients and tableware.
We recommend the "Delicious Colorful Kaiseki" course, which lavishly incorporates Ishikawa's seasonal seafood. The menu changes with the seasons. For example, the winter Delicious Colorful Kaiseki is a special plan that lavishly incorporates sweet shrimp, winter yellowtail, and nodoguro, and you can also enjoy local dishes such as jibuni, Kaga vegetables, and Noto beef. The "Winter Limited Live Kano Crab Kaiseki" course, which is only available in the winter when crab fishing is allowed, is also very popular, and allows each person to enjoy one serving of the popular live Kano crab. There are 18 types of sake and two types of shochu by the glass to pair with the food, mainly from local breweries.
The Shosen Lake Garden is a place of relaxation during your stay. The surrounding trees are captivating with the colors of the seasons. At the end of the corridor is the teahouse "Muryōan". Enjoy a cup of matcha in peace and quiet, and your mind will be cleared away.
