One of the largest inns in Arima, with a history spanning over 700 years since its establishment.
Enjoy Arima at three hot springs filled with golden spring water and in high-quality guest rooms.
The open-air bath "Ichinoyu" is filled with reddish-brown gold spring water. Arima Onsen is a rare hot spring in the world, containing seven of the nine types of spring quality designated as therapeutic springs: simple hot spring, carbon dioxide spring, bicarbonate spring, chloride spring, sulfate spring, ferruginous spring, and radioactive spring.
Located on a hill in Arima Onsen, Hyoe Koyokaku of the largest hot spring resorts in Japan, boasting a history of 700 years.
A popular activity is the "Three Hot Springs and Nine Baths of Golden Springs Tour," where you can enjoy large baths of different types: the Japanese-style "Ichino-yu," the Roman-style "Nino-yu," and the hot spring resort-style "Sanno-yu."
The name of the large bath was taken from the time when Arima only had one water outlet, and Hyoe belonged to the "second bath." The golden spring, which turns reddish brown when exposed to air, was also a favorite of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. It's nice to enjoy the hot spring while thinking about such history. You can also enjoy the golden spring in a private bath with a garden.
The East, West and North buildings are all equipped with elegantly furnished guest rooms, offering views of the hot spring town and the Rokko mountain range. The East building has a single VIP room, Oimatsu, on the eighth floor. This luxurious 100m2 space includes a garden, a semi-open-air golden spring bath, a Japanese-style room, a bedroom and a private dining room, and is perfect for up to eight people on a three-generation trip.
The top floor of the West Wing features a guest room with an open-air bath, and the corner room on the top floor of the West Wing features a Japanese modern room with a dining room called "Hanaemi." The space is decorated with gorgeous textiles that evoke the nature of Arima and the flickering of the hot springs. The spacious room is equipped with twin beds and a view bath, allowing you to enjoy the mountain ranges of Ura Rokko.
The attraction is the food
What makes Hyoe unique is that it offers plans that combine a variety of guest rooms with fine dining.
Hyoe's cuisine is a kaiseki course meal that uses high-quality seasonal ingredients, including Kobe beef. They carefully simmer, grill, and cook the food, and even take the time and effort to prepare dishes that are not visible to the naked eye, such as the basic dashi stock and hidden knife techniques, to create dishes that feel special.
There are four different dining styles to choose from depending on the occasion of your stay. The Shun Kaiseki course is a traditional Japanese inn style in-room dining that offers a selection of exquisite dishes, the Shun Kaiseki course includes a dessert buffet at the modern Japanese Main Dining Mokuran, the Sumibi-yaki Kaiseki course includes charcoal-grilled dishes and exquisite hotpot dishes made with traditional broth at the private room of the Sumibi-yaki & Japanese-style Dining Ajisai, and the Arima Shikisai buffet at the Buffet Restaurant Hana no Mai, where you can enjoy around 50 kinds of inn cuisine that are adaptations of traditional kaiseki cuisine, including Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes, sashimi, small kaiseki dishes, and desserts.
Only a long-established inn can offer such a variety of food.
The cuisine, which mainly uses seasonal ingredients from Hyogo Prefecture, which is rich in ingredients, is beautifully colored and rich in flavor, adding a touch of elegance to your trip. It is delicious enough to satisfy not only regular customers, but also guests of all ages and genders, and even those visiting Arima for the first time.
