This large hotel with extremely popular natural cave hot springs has evolved.
"Kumano Cuisine" buffet and all-inclusive restaurant is born.

The large cave bath "Boukido" makes full use of the natural beauty of the cave. During the heyday of pilgrimages to Kumano, it was said to be a popular spot for people to relax and unwind after their journey.

Hotel Urashima occupies the Noroi Peninsula, which can be reached by shuttle boat from Katsuura Port, and features the main building on the seaside, Nisshokan, which overlooks the majestic sunrise, Nagisakan, which overlooks the beautiful scenery of Katsuura Bay, and Hotel Urashima, which is connected to the main building at the top of the mountain by a 154m escalator, making your travel time especially dynamic and memorable.
The hotel is particularly known for its natural cave hot springs, and from July 2024, the dinner menu at its buffet restaurant, Sunrise, will be significantly revamped, with a focus on "Kumano cuisine" made with fresh local ingredients.
The restaurant is attracting a lot of attention with its approximately 60 dishes, which are made using a variety of local ingredients and seasonings, including seafood and meat carefully grown by producers in the Kumano region and the Kumano Sea, as well as organic vegetables and fruits from the Irokawa area. For dinner, you can choose from three options: the "Kumano cuisine" buffet, kaiseki cuisine, or a buffet and main course exclusive to Yamagamikan.
In response to customer feedback, the hotel will launch its first "restaurant inclusive" service in January 2025. Guests staying in the Main Building, Nagisa Building, and Nissho Building can enjoy an all-you-can-drink option for over 30 types of drinks, including draft beer, local sake from Wakayama Prefecture, shochu, wine, whiskey, sparkling wine, and fruit liqueur, for a 90-minute period during dinner. At breakfast, draft beer, wine, and sparkling wine can be enjoyed for a 60-minute period. The pleasure of eating is dramatically changing the hotel's image.

The appeal is the guest rooms
Enjoy the beautiful scenery and formations from the two natural cave baths.
Relax in the panoramic Yamakamikan

What fascinates everyone are the two natural cave hot springs formed by erosion caused by the rough winds and waves of the Kumano Sea. One of them is "Bouki-do", with a width of 25m, depth of 50m and height of 15m. The impressiveness of the large cavern, which cannot be experienced in any other hot spring resort, and the view of the raging waves of the Pacific Ocean can only be seen here. The other is "Genbudo", a large cave bath where you can experience nature as it is. A mystical bathing experience awaits.
We highly recommend staying at the Yamagamikan, which boasts a superb location 80 meters above sea level and high-quality facilities. There are seven types of guest rooms, including corner rooms with Japanese-Western style rooms, Japanese-style rooms, and Western-style rooms. The most popular are the suites with open-air baths over 100 m2 and the corner suites. The corner suites, which boast a spectacular 270-degree panoramic view of the ocean, and the 239 m2 VIP room are especially recommended.
The hot spring, "Harumine no Yu," is available exclusively to guests and allows you to enjoy a bath while taking in the spectacular view of Katsuura Bay. Dinner is served at the restaurant exclusively for Yamagamikan, where you can enjoy the chef's special main dish and buffet, or a kaiseki meal. Breakfast is an exquisite buffet where you can savor the deliciousness of freshly prepared dishes prepared in the performance kitchen. You can watch the sunset and sunrise from Yamagamikan's observation deck. A one-of-a-kind large cave hot spring, a panoramic space, delicious food unique to Kumano, and the enjoyment of all-you-can-drink... You've never experienced a holiday where you can have all of this at once.
