Takayama's major tourist spots, such as the Jinya, morning market, and old townscape, are all within a one-minute walk.
Enjoy the sophistication of this ancient capital whilst being looked after with personal hospitality.
Honjinhiranoya Hiranoya Kachoan is a guesthouse offering attentive hospitality, located in a prime location in the heart of Hida Takayama, just a one-minute walk from the Jinya, the old townscape, and the morning market.
There are 70 staff members serving the 24 rooms, who are casual, yet close and not too far away. They provide thorough support for both families with babies and the elderly. The inn's hospitality is "Aunno Hospitality." From "A" (arrival) to "Un" (departure), a hundred types of hospitality are provided.
The guest rooms are mainly suites that cater to women's aesthetic sense and choices. Six of the rooms will be renovated and reopened in 2023. Each room is a beautiful 60-square-meter space with an 8-tatami Japanese-style room, a living room decorated with Hida furniture, a bedroom with twin beds, and a cypress bath that can be enjoyed 24 hours a day, and the "chic" of the ancient capital is exuded everywhere.
The top floor also features a 90-square-meter VIP room with a view of Takayama Jinya directly below.
Consideration for women is also shown during the bathing. Relax Kura, an old house filled with the atmosphere of a townhouse, is equipped with a bathhouse filled with hot spring water, a rest area, a Japanese-style beauty salon, and a powder corner, creating a relaxing time. There are separate baths for men and women, Ishibashi-no-Yu and Relax Manten on the top floor of the annex. For men, there is also an open-air bath where you can have the Hida Mountains and the night view of the city all to yourself.
The attraction is the food
Dinner is a delicious selection created by the head chef with great care and attention to cooking methods, serving methods, and ingredient selection. The "Basic Kaiseki" is a monthly changing course that transforms the natural flavors of high-quality Hida beef, river delicacies, and fresh fish caught that morning and delivered directly from Toyama Bay into delicious treats. The most popular course is the "Bimikyushin Kaiseki," which allows you to savor the finest Hida delicacies little by little, allowing you to savor the exquisite flavors of the chef and the proprietress, who are particular about using seasonal produce. The "Hida Beef All-You-Can-Eat Kaiseki," which allows you to enjoy high-quality Hida beef prepared in a variety of ways, is also consistently popular. It's also nice that the food is brought out at the most delicious time.
Breakfast is Japanese or Western. Japanese dishes include rolled omelette and magnolia leaf miso made after you sit down, and overnight dried trout made with care for freshness. Western dishes include 100% Hida produce and apple juice, hot marinated vegetables, bread with fresh cream, and miso bread. You can enjoy the deliciousness of Hida in a private dining room.
Japanese breakfast (example). Hida's specialty "Hoba miso" is seasoned with the inn's original seasoning. Freshly baked rolled eggs are also delicious.
