Founded in 1690 (Genroku 3), Hizenya is a unique inn that connects the two prefectures of Oita and Kumamoto. The main entrance and other areas have been renovated, creating a deeply relaxing atmosphere with the sounds of the Tsuetate River and the changing seasonal colors of the virgin forest on the opposite bank.
All of the guest rooms are relaxing spaces with a view of the great outdoors through the windows. Recent renovations have upgraded the comfort of the guest rooms, which include Japanese-style twin rooms with Simmons semi-double beds, maisonette rooms, modern guest rooms, and two "premium rooms with open-air hot spring baths" on the top floor. Even the regular guest rooms are available in a wide range of sizes, from 10 to 28 tatami mats.
The Japanese modern "Yaoyorozu Dining" welcomes you with a fantastic "double-mirror bamboo lantern." The dining space, decorated with the traditional crafts of both Kumamoto and Oita prefectures, features teppanyaki and grill, tempura and steaming areas, and you can enjoy a variety of freshly prepared dishes made with carefully selected ingredients from the bountiful Kyushu in buffet style.
If you want to enjoy a leisurely banquet, head to the restaurant "Mankiro." The specialty banquet is the "Higo and Bungo Wagyu Beef Teppanyaki Plan," a plan that allows you to compare the flavors of the prefecture's borders. This is a gourmet experience that can only be had at Hizenya. We highly recommend that you try it.

The attraction is the hot springs
Enjoy a huge variety of hot springs in one stay

The inn has 11 hot springs on its premises. There are 41 baths for men and women in total in the four hot spring facilities inside and outside the building. The spring water is alkaline with a pH of over 8.5, which is good for the skin, and contains 138 mg of metasilicic acid, a natural moisturizing ingredient, making it a popular beauty bath and fatigue recovery bath.
The hot spring facilities in the hotel are "Higo no Yu" in the Kumamoto building, which has a large bath decorated with stained glass and an open-air bath along the Tsuetate River, and "Bungo no Yu" on the Oita building side, which has "Forest Terrace", the world's first anti-aging sauna. Forest Terrace also has amusement facilities such as a bowling alley, table tennis tables, and a pool.
The enjoyment is in the open-plan "Kissho-no-Yu" baths that blend in with nature, and the annex hot spring bath "Dai-Shizen" along the mountain stream. The size of the Kissho-no-Yu baths, which the inn takes pride in, is one of the largest in Kyushu. There are large and small rock baths, wooden baths, tub baths, and lava baths for both men and women, and the temperature is adjusted using three different hot springs, so you can always enjoy 100% natural hot spring water straight from the source.
"Daisen" is a hot spring resort where you can feel close to the mountains and the murmuring of the river. There are a Japanese-style large bath and a Western-style large bath, each with an open-air bath, so you can relax in the spacious bath. It is available 24 hours a day, so you can check in late without worry.
