Enjoy the ultimate resort space in Japan's most lush hidden village.
Enjoy a deep sleep in a modern Japanese room, beauty-enhancing hot springs, and seasonal flavors.
Ayunosato commands a magnificent view of the Kuma River below and the ruins of Hitoyoshi Castle on the opposite bank. The high-quality space, where Japanese furnishings and a resort atmosphere blend in harmony, is filled with the "spiritual luxury" and "ultimate relaxation" that the inn claims to provide.
There are 14 types of guest rooms, including suites where you can enjoy the hot springs and the scenic beauty of the area. In 2024, guest rooms with comfortable Simmons beds on tatami floors will be available. The calming Japanese modern design will soothe you and help you sleep deeply while feeling the pulse of nature. Guest rooms with open-air hot spring baths include the Panorama Suite of approximately 110 m2, the Luxury Suite of approximately 90 m2, and the Premium Suite of 70 m2. To conserve the precious hot spring resources, an automatic heating system ensures that you can always bathe at the right temperature.
You can enjoy the "Ayuzato Hot Spring," a hot spring with skin-beautifying properties that was discovered by the founder, in two baths that offer views of the ruins of Hitoyoshi Castle and the Kuma River at a comfortable height, just like a bath in the sky.
The fifth floor features a bathhouse called "Kura no Yudono" modeled after the white walls of Hitoyoshi Castle, while the third floor features a bathhouse with a sukiya-style design called "Yama-nami no Yuya." The spring water is a bicarbonate spring containing metasilicic acid, which promotes blood circulation, metabolism, and skin turnover. The spring water is drinkable.
The Spa Suite Panorama View overlooks the Kuma River and the Southern Kyushu Mountains. Relax in the open-air bath with water drawn directly from the source.
The attraction is the food
Dinner is a Japanese-Western fusion banquet that uses seasonal local ingredients. It is a gourmet meal cooked in the most delicious way possible when the ingredients are at their best. From June to October, you can also enjoy the specialty wild sweetfish grilled with salt and sashimi.
The dish is complemented by Kuma Shochu, a cultural asset that is part of the Japan Heritage and a globally recognized brand. We recommend Hitoyoshi Okami Sakura, developed by the Hitoyoshi Onsen Okami Association. Made from Hitoyoshi's famous waters and locally grown Hinohikari rice, this aged liquor has been aged for over seven years, and is mellow and rich, making it popular with women. It is also vegan-certified, which is rare for shochu.
For dining, try the modern "Dining Zenzo" or the "Sagara Hanakoji" which also has private rooms. You can enjoy your meal in a relaxing and beautiful space.
The nightlife in Hitoyoshi continues. The Kuma Shochu Lounge is a free drink lounge exclusively for hotel guests. There are over 200 shochu brands in the Kuma area of Hitoyoshi, so you can enjoy a wide variety of flavors.
Be sure to head to the "Terrace in the Sky" early in the morning, where you can enjoy the view of the Kuma River and the mountains of Southern Kyushu. You can feel the pulse of nature up close and refresh yourself with morning yoga at "Rusie Datton". For breakfast, replenish your energy with a delicious and nutritious Japanese breakfast. There is no hustle and bustle like at a buffet, so you can quietly recharge your energy.
The attentive service provided by each staff member as a concierge will also become a memorable part of your trip.
